To further spruce up the event, Amway is arranging for a group of local sexagens to attend the evening’s festivities, courtesy of the organization’s human resources department. Aside from the aforementioned perks, job seekers can also count on an on-site buffet-style lunch, a full-service breakfast buffet, and a caffeinated coffee craze that will rival those found in the Big Apple, sans the ubiquitous snoozing bureaucrats.
Harry P. Leu Gardens
Located on the shores of Lake Rowena, the Harry P. Leu Gardens offer visitors a 50-acre botanical haven. Its diverse plant collections include camellias, tropical fruit trees, ornamental grasses, bamboo, and more.
The gardens have several buildings on the National Historical Register. There is also a museum. The buildings include a bride’s room, restrooms, and storage for the Leu House Museum. The Museum also features temporary art exhibits.
The Camellia Collection contains 230+ cultivars. It is one of the largest documented collections in the Southeast. Its 215 varieties are suited for Central Florida’s climate and growing conditions.
The Heliconia Collection is also located in the Tropical Stream Garden. These beautiful plants, from the Heliconiaceae Family, have banana-like foliage and spectacular inflorescences. These flowers bloom from late spring into mid summer.
The Camellia Collection ranks as one of the most significant in the country. The collection includes a wide variety of plants, including a rare, indigenous variety.
The Garden’s Subtropical and Tropical Fruit Collection contains different types of tropical fruit trees. It also features a tropical wetland that filters pollutants from the water and provides shelter for wildlife.
Mennello Museum of American Art
Located near Lake Formosa in Orlando, Florida, the Mennello Museum of American Art is a premier art museum that specializes in contemporary and traditional American art. The collection features sculptures and paintings. Founded in 1998, the museum’s mission is to celebrate and enrich the public’s understanding of American art.
The museum’s contemporary art collection includes works by internationally renowned artists. The museum also offers publications and exciting programs. In addition to its traditional art collection, the museum displays a sculpture garden.
The museum will also host the StoryCorps Mobile Booth in January. The booth will be located right in front of the Orlando Museum of Art. On select dates, StoryCorps facilitators will be recording stories from the Pulse nightclub shooting.
The exhibition will also feature the latest in artistic technology. The museum will have complimentary transportation for visitors who want to see both the exhibitions. Guests can purchase tickets through the online timed ticketing system. The ticket price is $15 for non-members, plus $10 for each item.
